Junior Council is group of young professionals in Chicago dedicated to supporting the Pediatric & Adolescent HIV/AIDS Program at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.
Joining Junior Council
Junior Council accepts new members throughout the year on a rolling basis. Prior to attending your first meeting, please fill out a membership form and our Membership Chairs will contact you with more information.
- $100 Annual Dues (must be paid within two months of attendance of your first meeting)
- Membership Form
- Highly Encouraged
- Attend at least 7 meetings a year
- Serve on a committee
- Purchase at least one ticket to a fundraising event and bring prospective members/friends
- Purchase one ticket to Snowball
- Volunteer for at least one shift either before, after, or during Snowball
- Provide a corporate referral or auction item for Snowball
In addition to organizing a variety of fundraising events open to all members and the Chicago community, Junior Council members can also participate in the following activities:
- Member Meetings
Junior Council holds monthly member meetings on the second Wednesday of every month. These meetings are dedicated to Board of Director updates and doctors/staff from Lurie Children’s periodically come in to speak. After each meeting, we gather at Lincoln Station to socialize and network.
- Committee Work Nights
Junior Council holds monthly committee work nights to prepare for Snowball between July and January. Committee descriptions can be found here.
- Hospital Tours
The Membership Chairs host quarterly hospital tours for current and prospective members to see the main hospital building.
- Intramurals Sports Leagues
Junior Council participates in biannual intramural leagues to foster fellowship amongst members. Members are encouraged to participate to get to know the Board of Directors and other members better.
- Member Happy Hours
The Membership Chairs hosts quarterly happy hours for members to meet and network with other members.
